Same as last week, we're going to be at Habit Coffee in the Atrium this Tuesday to give it another go.
6pm to whenever (They close at 10pm, but we usually stick around until 8’ish-9 on a school/work night.)
Habit Coffee in the Atrium, 808 Yates St. (Yates at Blanshard)
Free parking downtown after 6pm and on plenty of bus routes. Parkade in the building or there's a Robin's parking lot on Yates (between Quadra and Blanshard) that has some cheap-o evening parking rates.
In case someone is still lurking on this site, our discussions now take place on Ravelry. However, in case you missed it, this Tuesday, for one night only, we're going to knit at Habit in the Atrium.

Join us over on Ravelry!
Our next Pub Knit Night will be Monday, Oct 24th. All the details are on our Ravelry page.
See you there!
Welcome!
If you're new here (Thanks for dropping by!), a lurker (Perhaps you'll join us one day?) or a regular Bee (Tuesday and Friday nights!) - Hello! Since so many people have come and gone over the years, I tend to get the question, "How long has this been going on?" So, I thought I'd do a quick post on who we are and our history.
Our group was formed in 2006 by Vanessa Carter (aka Nessa). I met Nessa online here on Livejournal and we became online friends. Not long after, we decided to meet up at a coffee shop to knit together. Soon after, the Bees were born and we got this site up to see if we could gather more knitters together and create a community.
A barista once asked us if we were a knitting bee (a 19th century term for a knitting party) or a stitch 'n bitch (a phrase used as early as WWII, but became popular with the 2003 release of Debbie Stoller's "Stitch 'n Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook"). We told him we were both and became the Bitchy Bees.
So many people have joined us in one form or another since 2006. Visitors from another city, country, and even continent. Former Victorians visiting family. New Victorians having just moved here. Some drop in for one night only, others come and knit when it fits their schedule, and finally, those who show up each and every week that make the core of the Bees.
Today, this group is still what attracted me to it in the first place. A place where any fibre lover can get together to share their ideas, widsom, and company. Whether you only know how to knit - but perhaps not purl - or have been knitting since you were 2, we welcome you to join us. With our drop in policy, some nights it can be a group of 2 or we've even had just over 20 people at one time!
So if you want to share our love of knitting and yarn or only know how to crochet (Or even drop spindle or needlework - we've had those fibre arts too!) come join us each and every Tuesday and Friday night.
When? Where?
Every Tuesday at Cornerstone Cafe in Fernwood (corner of Gladstone and Fernwood.)
6pm'ish to whenever (We usually take off before 9pm since it’s a school/work night.)
Every Friday at Serious Coffee in Cook St Village (corner of Cook & Oxford across the street from the Beagle Pub)
6pm to whenever (they close at 10pm)
Like knitting, our online presence has evolved. This online community is more for official announcements. Most of our members are active on Ravelry. We welcome you to join us there.
Happy Knitting!
Mary
Hey there Knitters!
EDIT TO ADD: DATE CHANGE!
Long time no see! I've been so caught up with hockey and moving and work and... and... and... that I've totally missed scheduling beer knitting! So after a chat last night at knitting, with people going away in the coming weeks, we thought we'd better have a beer knit night RIGHT AWAY!
Without further ado:

Beer knitting has been rescheduled for this Thursday, March 3rd! Same time and place. Spinnakers 6pm.
See you there!
Mary
Beer knit night tomorrow has been postponed due to snow. When we reschedule we'll let you know. Enjoy the snow day!

Rachael Cardiello is playing at the Cornerstone Tuesday night (that's tomorrow). All I know it's at 7:30pm and the last time she played at the Cornerstone a couple of years ago, it was free. So bring your knitting and stay for a night of good music to sway to.
Not promoting the artist (I've never seen her live and just enjoyed her music online), but thought I would mention it here in case knitters were wondering what's going on that night. Categorized as acoustic, alternative, indie, find her tunes here: http://www.myspace.com/rachaelcardi
See you there!

Hello there lovelies!
hy-bees/topics
Unfortunately, Cornerstone has a new event going on every Tuesday night until the end of March, so we’re knitting at Habit for the time being.
Last night we were sitting in the back corner with the benches. Smaller space, but a bit more comfy than the big long table in the middle of the room. If the place is really busy, we could move out into the actual Atrium. So look for us there if you don’t see us in the coffee shop itself.
Tuesdays @ Habit Coffee on Yates St in the Atrium.
Got it? Good. :) Mark it on your calendars!
Thanks! See you Tuesday!!!
Mary
